Micheal Heavens, Lib Dem Parliamentary Spokesman and Epping Forest District council executive member for housing, writes to update you on the current position of the East of England Development:
Serious health and safety problems at the Roding Centre are delaying the Parish Council's attempt to take over management. Unless they can be resolved, it will not be able to obtain essential insurance cover. The possibility of the presence of asbestos in the building is another anxiety.
Following the success of the mini-roundabouts' campaign, with which the Lib Dem Team were assisted by a local resident, Cyril Gersch, the FOCUS Team has turned its attention to the problems of Stag Lane and Church Road. Stag Lane will soon be affected by the development of flats on the Thames Water depot site with an underground garage entrance onto the lane.
Charles Kennedy's Lib Dems have made a flying start to 2005 boosted by polls showing a big rise in support for the party.
Michael Heavens and the Epping Forest Lib Dem team would like to thank local residents for the support we have received in a fantastic year for the Lib Dems both locally and nationally. We wish all residents and visitors to this site a very happy 2004.
