New Poll Boost for Kennedy

15 Jan 2005

Charles Kennedy's Lib Dems have made a flying start to 2005 boosted by polls showing a big rise in support for the party.

While the Conservatives remain stuck in the polls below where they were a year ago, Lib Dem support continues to rise. The polls also show that most people now believe that Mr Kennedy's party is the real opposition to Labour.

Experts are predicting the Lib Dems could make more gains at the General Election.

People are clearly fed up with Tony Blair's broken promises and want a change. Yet they are turning to the Lib Dems not the Tories. On issues like Council Tax, Iraq, policing and tuition fees, the Lib Dems have been alone in opposing Tony Blair.
