Theydon Bois Youth Centre

30 Jan 2009

The Conservative-run county council has now submitted its latest planning application to build homes on the youth centre site.

Local youth leaders like Roland Frankel are concerned that that the deal done by the Conservatives still includes building houses on the youth centre site, grabbing most of the children's playing area and making it more difficult to run Scout and other youth services.

"It is difficult enough to get volunteers to be involved with running youth groups these days. The last thing you require is a householder next door asking leaders to make the children play games quietly."

"The proposed houses should not be built and the Conservative county council should withdraw its plans," he said.
