Six to fix

26 May 2009

Epping Forest Liberal Democrats work hard all year round. Over the past few months Councillor Ann Haigh and Councillor Janet Whitehouse and the Lib Dem Team have been out and about talking with residents about issues that matter to them.

Protecting our children

Many parents have told the Liberal Democrats they are concerned that the Conservative-run council has failed our children. Essex's safeguarding procedures were graded inadequate by OFSTED.

The Liberal Democrats would cut the County Council's £5 million a year propaganda budget and invest in youth services instead.

Pothole Crazy

Time and time again local residents raise the issue of the state of our roads. Despite much publicity by the Conservatives, many residents have told the Liberal Democrats they are still unhappy with the potholes that litter the roads.

Essex Liberal Democrats proposed more money for road repairs in the 2007 budget. The Conservatives opposed this.
