Local Liberal Democrats Fighting for Extra Funds for Epping Forest's Youth

13 Feb 2006

Liberal Democrat district councillors are bidding for extra funds for youth projects in the district. They will be asking for additional funding to be allocated to the Grant Aid budget ring-fenced for work with young people. Proposed by Cllr Ann Haigh (Buckhurst Hill) it was supported by Cllr Janet Whitehouse (Epping).

'There are many projects across the district such as those at Limes Farm, the Roding Centre and The Box in Epping which are doing valuable work with young people. This will provide a way for them and others to bid for support for specific purposes at the time they need it' said Cllr Ann Haigh.

A series of district council meetings to discuss budget issues will be held this week.
