Lib Dems elected in Epping and Ongar

24 May 2014

Liberal Democrats in Epping and in Ongar were elected as district councillors in Thursday's District Council elections.

Congratulations to Janet Whitehouse who was elected to represent the Epping Hemnall ward, winning 847 votes and beating the Conservative candidate into third place.

Meanwhile a close contest in the Chipping Ongar, Greensted and Marden Ash ward saw Brian Surtees win by just 8 votes. Sometimes every vote really does make a difference!

Your new Lib Dem team are looking forward to representing you at Epping Forest District Council, holding the Tories to account and speaking up for our community.

Where we didn't win, Lib Dems will continue to fight for the needs of ordinary people and will work to ensure that your values and wishes are heard by the council.

Well done to our new councillors, and many thanks to all our supporters and volunteers.
