Lib Dem Council Recognised as a Quality Council

Lib Dem run Buckhurst Hill Parish Council has been awarded a 'Quality Council' award. Local Council Chairman and a delegation of Parish Councillors were presented with the award at a full meeting of Epping Forest District Council on Tuesday 14th December.

The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) reports "The Quality Parish and Town Council scheme was launched in June 2003, following the publication of the governments Rural White Paper, 2000. The scheme was designed to provide a benchmark minimum standards for parish and town councils and enable them to better represent the communities they serve. The scheme also aims to give enhance relationships between local councils, principal authorities and community and voluntary sector organisations."

This National Award is further recognition of the hard work and commitment of the local Liberal Democrat Councillors. All councillors were elected unopposed in June 2004. The current political makeup of Buckhurst Hill Parish Council is: 10 Liberal Democrats and 1 Resident.
