Essex County Council spends £173 million on consultants

28 Aug 2011

Figures have been uncovered that show Essex County Council spent £173 million on consultants and agency staff over the last three years. The figures were uncovered by a question from Liberal Democrat County Councillor David Kendall at a full council meeting.

Councillor Kendall commented: "If the County Council can spend £173 million of residents' money on consultants and agency staff they should be able to find the money to save lives and improve road safety on Essex roads."
