Liberal Democrats in Epping Forest have presented their petition against the new pothole policy to Essex County Council.

Many residents have signed the petition against the policy which will see potholes in Epping Forest become deeper for longer before they are fixed.

Liberal Democrat parliamentary campaigner Ann Haigh said: "Whilst many of Conservatives in Epping Forest are now distancing themselves from this unpopular policy, very little is being done to mend the potholes littering our streets."

"The Conservatives at County Hall say this new policy will lead to speedier repairs. You only have to look around the streets of Epping Forest to see this is not the case."

Residents can still sign Ann's petition by visiting www.eflibdems.org.uk
