Credit Union come to Epping

27 Mar 2010

Essex Savers is a Credit Union. It provides ethical local banking, convenient savings and low-cost loans.

Janet Whitehouse set up the first local branch, based at St John's Church in Epping, in September. The branch

opens every Monday between 10 am and 12 noon, staffed by volunteers.

"The loans help those on low incomes who might otherwise be vulnerable to loan sharks. New savers are vital to increase the 'loan pot' to ensure loans continue to be available to those in need," she said.

A branch is due to open in Waltham Abbey on Tuesday 23 February. For more information, or to volunteer, ring Janet Whitehouse on 01992 812503.
