Cottis Lane car park works

11 Sep 2006

Residents of Buttercross Lane and Bakers Villas have been complaining about noise from cars racing around Cottis Lane car park and from the night club late at night.

Epping councillor Janet Whitehouse helped to set up a meeting between residents, council officers from environmental services and the police. An action plan was agreed.

The council is carrying out work to the car park to ensure effective traffic management and reduce anti-social behaviour. This includes resurfacing, kerbing and ducting, improved lighting and CCTV.

The police have applied for a Dispersal Order which will give police officers extra powers to move young people on from St John's Road, the Cottis Lane car park surrounding sourounding areas if they are causing a disturbance.
