Conservative lies exposed

The Conservatives have been exposed for making up information on crime in the local area. In a recent leaflet they said "Burglary and car crime are on the rise". Yet official figures on the Essex Police website show that burglary and vehicle crime have fallen over the past year.

Councillor Peter Spencer said: "Whilst the Conservatives try to whip up fear amongst local residents, the Liberal Democrats would abolish ID cards and invest the money by providing 10,000 more police officers, helping to reduce crime even further."
