Loughton Liberal Democrats have reacted in anger at the revelation that the BNP are trying to whip up residents' fear of a crime wave across the town.

During the local elections many Loughton residents received a leaflet from the BNP implying that robberies were on the increase. This myth has now been dismissed by the local Police Inspector who reports that robberies have in fact fallen by 62.5 per cent.

FOCUS says "Locally the Lib Dems are supporting the roll out of neighbourhood policing teams. A more visible presence presense on our streets will help reduce the fear of crime and help tackle anti-social behaviour."
