Ann Haigh honoured by District Council
Following being elected as district council Vice-Chair, hard-working Councillor Ann Haigh, who has represented Buckhurst Hill West on the district council since 1996 and was a county councillor from 2001 to 2005, reports on her first three months in the role.
As well as being a significant honour the role also includes plenty of hard work as it involves attending many community and other local events. These have included a VE day commemoration, charity evenings, awards for voluntary service and arts exhibitions.
"It is a delight to meet and support so many volunteers involved in local organisations," Ann said. "A lot of hard work in the community generally goes unrecognised. These visits are a chance to say thank you for the effort that people put in."
