Local Liberal Democrat campaigners and councillors have been in contact with Epping Forest District Council regarding the large number of missed collection. Some residents' black wheelie bins have not been collected since December 10 2009.

The situation appears to be:

1) Normal collections have resumed, with collections according to the revise Christmas timetables.

2) Additional vehicles have been commissioned to tackle the backlog with different areas being targeted daily, for example Loughton has been targeted for tomorrow (14 January)
