Petition launched against Conservative pothole policy12.00.00am GMT Mon 10th Mar 2008
Liberal Democrat parliamentary campaigner Councillor Ann Haigh has launched an Epping Forest wide petition against the Conservative council's decision to leave potholes deeper for longer. The Conservative proposals seem to be to wait until damage to road surfaces gets worse before the council will even look to see whether it should be fixed or not. In some cases where a kerb doesn't align with the road, the Tories have cut out any commitment to set a date for work to be carried out. Liberal Democrat prospective parliamentary candidate, Councillor Ann Haigh said "For residents in Epping Forest it will be inconvenient, hazardous and frustrating, with no relief in sight." You can sign the petition at www.ourcampaign.org.uk/efpotholes.
