Conservative votes drops by 27% whilst the Lib Dem vote increases by 6%8.34.25am UTC (GMT +0000) Fri 26th Oct 2007 Liberal Democrats in Waltham Abbey would like to thank everyone one in Honey Lane ward who voted for Christine Akers in the recent by-election. The by-election was called after a Tory councillor resigned from the town council after hitting out how the Conservatives are running it. The labour party again came behind the Liberal Democrats proving that the real contest in Epping Forest is the between the Liberal Democrats and the Conservatives. Liberal Democrat candidate Christine Akers said: "I would like to thank everyone who voted for me. This close results shows that residents are fed up with the Conservatives and how they run our local services."
