Local Lib Dem councillor Ann Haigh has welcomed the council's introduction of an increased range of plastics for recycling.

Plastic cartons such as margarine and ice cream tubs, and plastic bags can now be recycled.

A leaflet with full details will soon be available from the council. There will also soon be a quarterly kerbside collection of batteries.

'Liberal Democrats have long been pressing the council for an increase in the range of goods that can be recycled' said Ann. 'We welcome this and hope residents will make good use of it."
