Parking restrictions bite

5.32.11pm UTC (GMT +0000) Tue 24th Jul 2007

Many residents have contacted the Lib Dem team and the county council about the new parking restrictions. In some roads, such as Bower Hill, the new restrictions are working well. However in other places new yellow lines are causing problems or have moved the problem elsewhere.

"It is so long since the original consultation took place that new residents have moved in and in some roads the parking situation has changed," said councillor Janet Whitehouse.

The Lib Dems have received a particularly large number of complaints from St John's Road, Theydon Grove and Sunnyside Road. "We have asked the district and county councils to start their post-implementation review earlier than planned so that the most obvious problems can be dealt with quickly," said district councillor Jon Whitehouse.
