Lib Dem councillor Janet Whitehouse (right) put pressure on the council to introduce furniture recycling.

Following pressure from Liberal Democrat councillors on Epping Forest district council recycling of furniture is now easier.

The new non-profit furniture recycling project is based in Waltham Abbey. The Lighthouse will collect good quality furniture and household appliances from across Epping Forest.

Residents will then be able to buy the recycled goods at low prices.
