Neighbourhood Policing Number Wrong

4.43.42pm UTC (GMT +0000) Sun 25th Feb 2007

Epping Forest Liberal Democrats have contacted Essex Policing after a leaflet informing residents how to contact their local neighbourhood policing team displayed the wrong number.

Late last year Grange Hill Parish Councillor Alan Lion contacted Essex Police after the a similar mistake was made on the Essex Police website.

The number used to contact Neighbourhood Policing teams in Buckhurst Hill, Debden and Chigwell should be 07968 354021.

Buckhurst Hill councillor Peter Spencer said: "If as a community we are serious about reducing crime and the fear of crime then residents need to be able to contact their Neighbourhood Policing Teams. I hope now that Essex Police will state the correct number on their literature."
