A by-election has been called on Thursday 14 December to elect a new councillor to replace Liberal Democrat Gavin Stollar.

Gavin has been one of our local district councillors since we elected him in 2002.

He has helped many residents with local issues. Gavin also gained a reputation as someone who stood up for Chigwell on the planning committee- fighting against over development and the inappropriate conversion if houses into flats.

Now Gavin has taken on a new role at work which takes him abroad and means he is no longer able to attend meetings.

He has therefore stepped down so we can elect a new councillor in his place.

The Conservatives have said they would prefer to see Grange left left with out a full set of councillors.
