LOCAL Conservatives are under fire for spreading misleading information about big fines for people who produce too much waste for the wheelie bin system. The council has not agreed to implement any system of new fines.

If people do produce too much waste they will receive information and advice on how to recycle their rubbish. Households which can't avoid producing large amounts of non-recyclable waste can request an extra-large bin. Any decision to implement fines for people who abuse the system will only be made after the council's nine member 'Cabinet' (which contains four Conservatives, two Lib Dems, one Loughton Resident, one Labour member, and one Conservative backed Independent) has considered a formal report.
