Epping New Road Fails Safety Audit

12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Fri 28th Oct 2005

deadend

The ill-conceived Tory project in Epping New Road has hit a dead-end.

The county Highways Safety Audit of the Epping New Road cycle Lane Scheme confirms virtually all of the local Liberal Democrats concerns about the ill-conceived project.

The audit recommends the removal of the cycle lanes and changes to the build-outs, islands and improved lighting at Warren Wood. We shall continue to campaign for roundabouts at Rangers/ Manor Road and the speed limit sign position.

The total cost of this Tory disaster was £292,807. The high-tax Tory led County Council has no budget for the cost of the recommended corrections.
