Christine Akers, Pat Brooks and Phil Chadburn study details of the safety measures.

Local councillor Pat Brooks has welcomed proposals for new safety measures in Upshire Road, Ninefields and Parklands.

"The new mini-roundabout at the junction of Parklands and Ninefields and the new pedestrian refuges will make the area much safer for all road users. However I am disappointed that the speed limit to be introduced on Parklands will be set at 50 mph, not 40 mph as the Liberal Democrats requested. We will ask the county council to reconsider," she said.

The work is due to be carried out during the next year.
