Lorry Movements

They also raised concerns about the number of lorry movements. The council and the developers have made efforts to enable the lorries to exit directly from the motorway but the Highways Agency will not allow this. It is hoped that most of the lorry movements will be completed in about six months.

However there will be a further period of deliveries towards the end of the development. Because planning permission was granted several years ago without controls on lorry movements the golf course developers are not obliged to limit the number of lorries coming in to any particular number.

"The golf course covers a vast area," said Kay, "and we were very concerned about the depth of the massive holes that have been dug."
