The dangerous crossroads at Fiddlers Hamlet is now safer, thanks to the efforts of resident Simon Pratt-Adams and local district and county councillor Janet Whitehouse. On the day Simon moved in, a car crashed into his garden- and it happened again last summer. Initially protective bollards were installed on the pavement by his house and the lines on the road repainted. Later enlarged signs, a new 'Bend' sign and reflector posts were provided. "I'm glad these safety measure are in place" said Janet "But it's still a dangerous junction and drivers need to drive with care".

To improve safety on ice days residents of Fiddlers Hamlet volunteered to grit the junction. The council quickly responded and provided a grit bin on the verge. Residents have already made such good use of it that it is already been refilled!
