Lib Dems have worked hard to improve recycling in Epping Forest

The popular Green Waste collection scheme has been extended into the winter months. As well as responding to public demand, the decision will further boost the council's good recycling record.

"Many local gardeners are still tidying and sweeping up leaves," said local district councillor Janet Whitehouse. "The extension means that all this green waste can be composted rather than dumped into landfill sites."

The final green waste collection of the season is due to take place in the first week of January. Lib Dems have worked hard to improve Epping Forest's record of recycling. Last year Epping Forest was top of the recycling league table in Essex.
